The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) is a multipurpose detector used in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is a huge solenoid magnet which generates a huge magnetic field inside the LHC where two high-energy particle beams collide at near the speed of light. The CMS experiment is a massive global scientific collaboration, considered the largest in the world, which includes the NCPP as an institutional member.

Among the studies done by NCPP members in this experiment includes the search for additional Higgs particles, the search for dark matter, and the study of soft quantum chromodynamics (QCD).
